“I drew a thick fuzzy leaf and a thin smooth one. Feeling both of them helped me feel balanced” - Outdoor Tuesday Student
Outdoor Tuesday
Our partnership with the Vashon Island School District centers nature (re)connection within the school day on the school campus and ensures equitable access to the health and healing benefits of learning with/in the natural world.
NATURE-BASED LEARNING
Every child experiences learning outside with VWP’s experienced mentors for 30 minutes each week. Students choose from one of four learning pathways and a variety of seasonally-based activities such as sensory-based games; nature craft activities; nature wanders; and interactive nature museum items/field guide exploration.
