Sneaking with Wild Wanderers
Wednesday was another special day for us and it began by working together to distribute fire wood. Thank you to everyone who was able to stay and show that many hands do indeed make light work. After working up an appetite, we enjoyed lunch in the sun with praying mantises and grasshoppers.
This group of Wild Wanderers really enjoys being stealthy and were successful in sneaking up on our Program Director who was sitting out in the open at the other end of the field. Not only did some sneak, others provided distraction so the surprise was complete! A game of Watch Tower had nearly everyone sneaking, hiding, collaborating with others, and strategizing. The few who weren't playing the game became a family of deer complete with their own language and favorite foods.
While enjoying an afternoon snack, we heard a story of mice seeking shelter during a forest fire. Does your Wanderer remember what tree sheltered the mice within its cones? Finally, we gathered with the Teen group for a rousing game of Blob Tag (by request). In just a few weeks, our sense of community has strengthened and it's been wonderful to see everyone getting to know each other.
