Fire Tenders Story of the Day

january 17, 2025

The day began with the group gathering in a circle to share their gratitudes. One story, about Coyote Stalks Deer with actual deer, inspired others to share their close encounters with wildlife.

Once divided into pods, each group ventured out on their own paths: one pod made their way to where they spent the day crafting burn bowls under the watchful eyes of soaring eagles; another pod rambled to an infamous spot on the land where a tiny cabin loomed cliffside and a great story of lore was shared; and a third pod explored the forest, revisiting a debris shelter built before winter break and discovering new trails.

Later in the day, the groups crossed paths. A playful attempt by a few to sneak up on the others ended in laughter as they were spotted and ran off. The remainder of the afternoon was spent enjoying crafts and the peaceful beauty of the meadow.

As the sun dipped lower, everyone gathered together again to share their highlights. It was a day full of creativity, exploration, and shared stories.
