Story of the Day - Wild Wanderers

To experience the world afresh, anew. To awaken your senses.  What does it take?   We sometimes get into habits, patterns.  We may move through our surroundings with expectations and knowings of what it usually is like.

Yes, this was a field trip day. Yes, this was a different forest.  But the awakener was not what was in this forest, but what happens to what is in this forest when the temperature drops below our normal. Everything was new!  Part of our journey was spent as cameras, photographer partners signalling when to briefly open our eyes to visually drink in as much as possible.  Many sparkling and crystalline jewels were found.  Does the quality of light change when it is cold?  Does the quality of sound?  What made the haunting birdlike sound at the pond?

If you were to initiate a conversation with the natural world around you, How would you know it is listening?  How could you show that you are giving it your undivided attention? What might it tell you in these magic moments?
