Circling Hud, Crafting, Compost Tea
December 8tH 2023
We shared a beautiful day together on Friday. In the morning we brought fire (hud) into our circle and heard a story from Mélou about their first time tending hud through the night as a pre-teen, and the support they received when they remembered to practice deep listening to their body and the land. We then spent time around hud crafting together, before some off us went off on an adventure to find nettle for our compost tea we plan to offer to the land next week. This group also worked with our lovely field directors Yasmin and Nathan Kuan to learn about and work on some burn spoons. The rest of us moved through the land playing, marveling at the mushrooms, and talking about the medicinal properties of different plant friends we spotted.
This time of year as the blanket of darkness grows heavier and the winds grow colder, we are reminded of the beauty of gathering with hud, storytelling, creating beauty, and embracing the challenges of the season.
