VWP receives $5,000 grant award from Kelly Ann Brown Foundation

In the world of non-profits, funders are like angels, helping to support the good work we do to make a difference in the world. The Kelly Ann Brown Foundation is no exception.

Founded in loving memory of Kelly Ann Brown, the daughter of Katy Jo Steward (Vashon’s own) and Kenneth Thomas Brown, the foundation seeks to honor Kelly’s life and passions in the areas of creative education, the arts, sustainable food, social justice, and more.

VWP is proud of our continued partnership with the Kelly Ann Brown Foundation to ensure that people of all ages continue to receive the care, skills and support they need to feel deeply connected to themselves, nature, and their community.  

In particular, we are deeply honored to receive this $5,000 grant award in memory of Steve Paschall, Katy Jo’s partner who passed away in 2017. Steve loved the outdoors, connecting with his friends and family, and genuinely bringing people together in celebration and community. Steve's spirit burns brightly at VWP - in the heart of our VWP family, bringing people together in joy and communion with the natural world.
