OUR IMPACT

Next year, we aim to serve nearly 1,000 children through our summer camps, and weekly and monthly school-year programs.

We're proud to partner with our local school district to offer new programs beginning Fall 2022:

  • "Nature Kids" - every elementary school student will experience guided nature-based activities and skills during in-school recess;

  • "Coyote Crew" - middle schoolers will receive nature and community building skills through a new weekly after school program; and,

  • "Young Mentors" - high schoolers will learn nature-based leadership skills through "theory" and "field placement.”

Nature connection is widely accepted as an integral component of healthy childhood, yet not all children have access to the healing impacts of time spent in nature. Let's change that together.

Our GiveBIG goal is to raise $15,000. Funds will be used to provide scholarships and expand our programming.

In honor of our 15th anniversary, we'd like to GiveBACK with gratitude for your support. When you donate:

$50 - Guided Nature Experience (30-minute mp3)

We'll send you an extraordinary 30 minute audio to help you engage all your senses as you wander and wonder through the magical landscape within and around you.

$100 - Grow a Forest/Grow a Child

We'll plant a tree in the name of a child as part of our ongoing collaboration with the Vashon Maury Island Land Trust to invest in healthy habitats for our collective future. You'll be invited to join our planting party in Fall 2022. Includes a complimentary Guided Nature Experience mp3.

$150 - GiveBIG 15th Anniversary Birthday Party

Complimentary admission to VWP's GiveBIG 15th Anniversary Birthday Party party on Wednesday, May 4th from 5-8pm at Camp Sealth! Join us for an evening of family-friendly nature stories, songs, crafts, games and more! Dinner will be available for purchase onsite from Orca Eats and Mustafa Syrian Kitchen; be sure to leave room for dessert - a piece of birthday cake compliments of VWP!  Also includes a complimentary Guided Nature Experience mp3 and a tree planted in your child's name. Limited to 75 donors at the $150+ level.

$250 - Private Bird Walk

In addition to all of the gifts mentioned above, you and your party of up to 4 people will receive a private 1-hour bird walk on Vashon with VWP's knowledgeable staff. Learn to identify birds by their songs and decode their language to reveal hidden stories of the forest. You'll also learn a few of our key practices to cultivate a quiet mind and deepen your connection with nature.
